Building Bridges of Opportunity for the Vulnerable

Daraja 360 is a faith-inspired Community-Based Organization dedicated to the belief that every child, youth, woman, and person with disabilities deserves a chance to lead a decent and sustainable life.

Our work addresses key challenges: poverty, lack of education access, limited guidance for youth transitions, and barriers to economic independence.

Our Core Belief
Daraja 360 is more than an organization; it is a movement where partnerships, creativity, and shared vision converge to build pathways out of poverty and into possibility.

RoseMary to making a living through Sewing

I first gained basic sewing skills at Springs of Hope Foundation, where we were trained before I joined the Nakuru Textile Hub on 24th March. Joining the hub became a turning point in my life because I was able to perfect and improve my sewing skills. Through the small stipend I received, I felt motivated and encouraged to continue learning and growing in the fashion and tailoring industry. During my training at the Nakuru Textile Hub, I learned how to operate different types of machines such as the button attachment machine, buttonhole machine, overlock machine, and cutting machine. I also gained experience in sewing different types of garments including raincoats, fleece jackets, blazers, and many others. Apart from sewing, I learned how to draft patterns and interpret designs for dresses, trousers, and shirts. Throughout the training, I greatly benefited in terms of building my confidence, operating sewing machines professionally, and taking clients’ measurements accurately. One thing I will never forget is the mentorship classes that helped me learn more about life, discipline, perseverance, and personal growth. These lessons have shaped me into a more confident and focused person. Today, I am confident that I can start and manage my own sewing business if I get support with startup capital. I am very grateful for the opportunity I received at the Nakuru Textile Hub. This is a place I would highly recommend to friends and other young people who would like to pursue sewing and fashion design as a career. I would like to sincerely thank the director, Regina, for giving me this opportunity and supporting my journey toward becoming skilled and self-reliant.
