Daraja 360 and Deep Crater League (DCL) have recently formed a partnership with the aim of promoting basketball as a means of empowering the community. In a meeting between the two organizations, several objectives were discussed.
The first objective is youth development and empowerment through sports, specifically basketball. The second objective is to create a significant sport entertaining model that will establish a brand behind DCL. The third objective is to create a business model that will enable the league to be an income-generating project.
Meeting Between Daraja & DCL Officials
To achieve these objectives, several activities were agreed upon by Daraja 360 and DCL. Firstly, they will develop and nurture talent in sports and arts, and equip them with mentorship and basic life skills lessons for personal development and sustainability.
This will be achieved by creating a platform that supports young people to pursue their talents, strengthening and supporting local sporting and arts programs, promoting professionalism and character building, creating a creative environment that supports participants in balancing their academics with their talents, providing a regulated social environment that protects them from negative influences and peer pressure, and promoting friendship partnerships with stakeholders and other sports-oriented agents worldwide.
Furthermore, the partnership will involve developing implementing and funding partnerships with professionals, governments, sports-oriented agents and other relevant stakeholders in sports and arts.
We will also mobilize resources to strengthen and support sporting and arts programs, conduct regular mentorship and comprehensive life skills training to build character and professionalism, provide scholarships to talented and needy students to pursue their academic goals, and create visibility and accountability systems through establishing digital platforms such as a website, social media pages, YouTube, etc.
Overall, the partnership between Daraja 360 and DCL is a positive step towards empowering the community through basketball and promoting talent development and personal growth. By working together and implementing the agreed-upon activities, they hope to make a positive impact on the lives of young people in the City of Nakuru.
