Mentorship Program

Today, millions of youths continue to lack supportive, sustained relationships with caring adults. Leading to myriads of problems arising in making wrong choices, landing into wrong jobs, lack of true fulfillment and joy, irresponsibility, and unemployment, all of which lead to moral degradation, wasted potential and indecent livelihood.

Mentoring—which matches youth or “mentees” with responsible, caring “mentors,” usually adults—has been growing in popularity as both a prevention and intervention strategy over the past decades. The enterprise offers training and attachment opportunities in cloth-making, hair & beauty coupled with business skills training.

Overall goal

The program is aimed at producing a holistically developed individual, with strong character, well able to define his/her identity, and ready to chart a clear career path.

Target group

Disadvantaged youth aged 18-24 years old: teenagers from low-income earners, single-parent households, and young adults from children’s homes, rehabilitation, and GBV centers. School dropouts.

Activities

Parenting programs and seminars-working together with parents – parents participate in the mentoring of their children.

Mentors training seminars- work with volunteers and professionals from different organizations

Camps and retreats for teenagers and youth- panel discussions, Bible-based life skills training, facilitation, focused group discussion, and safe space platforms

One on one mentorship- provides youth with mentors who can develop an emotional bond with the mentee and can provide support, guidance, and opportunities to help youth succeed in life and meet their goal

Family therapy acts as a bridge between youth who grew up in the rescue centers. After attaining the age of 18 years such youth are expected to leave the children's homes and be reunited with the families.

We seek to address any fear or any emerging issues that could hinder our reintegration.

We strive towards developing a working relationship between the relatives of the young adult and the project working team for a lasting benefit for all
