Networking & Partnership for Mentorship Program

Building networks and strengthening our partnership with various stakeholders in different institutions is an important step for Daraja’s mission and vision of creating a holistic empowered society. Daraja 360 runs a mentorship program for in-school and out-of-school youths program that strengthens the capacity of teenagers and young adults to cope with life challenges with practical life-skills.

Goal: Providing mentorship to young people teenager and youth in and out of School.

In – school mentorship –School going teens (13-18yrs) have been provided with intensive life skills training to build their character & career/talents development by years end.

After – school mentorship –Provide with intensive mentoring program to develop character, and professionalism referring them to job placement & internship opportunities by years end.

To mentor and equip parents on positive parenting concept to help them gain an understanding of teenage hood, build relationships & be a support system for their teens by years end. We have been in talks with Tumaini management concerning the mentorship and transition program. Tumaini is a Christian based organization that we’ve partnered with in mentorship program.

2022 Annual Form Four Leavers Camp

We agreed that the children from Tumaini children’s home from Grade 7 to form three will be our first pilot beneficiaries of the mentorship program. Daraja 360 will fully cater for the first teenage Boot camp expenses. Further, we discussed on how together with the guardians will be responsible for college and university linkages and placement, while transitioning class 9 students to the next level of education.

Tumaini Mission Center is also the official partner of the “What Next After KCSE” form four leavers camp which is an annual event targeting young adults, exposing them to the available opportunities after school and shaping their perspective in life.

County Government Partnership

Daraja 360 was part of the steering committee that participated in the reopening and reviving of the child protection Centre which had been closed for five years. The county government of Nakuru has a place where children get free services such as child and family counseling, legal advice, child-friendly police desk, tracing, and family reunion among other services runs the center. Daraja will provide life skills and mentorship for children and teens referred by the center.
